On Saturday morning we took Jonas fishing at Porcupine Damn which is about a 30 minute drive from our home. Scott's brother Michael came with us which Jonas was really excited about.

We planned on leaving here around 6:00am so we could get there nice and early. Scott kept telling Jonas that we were going to leave to go fishing in the dark and Jonas interpreted that as going fishing at night. So the night before Jonas would not go to sleep. Scott kept telling Jonas that we had to sleep before we could go and that we would wake him up at 5:30 am while it was still dark. Jonas was not happy with this and wouldn't go to sleep until Scott agreed to wake him up at 5:30 am at night. What ever works hunh! Well that night Jonas woke up several times crying his eyes out because Scott was taking to long to wake him up and he just really wanted to go. It was frustrating because we were so tired from being woke up so often yet it was just so cute that he was SOOO excited about going fishing!

The trip in itself was really quite fun! Jonas was the only one to catch a fish and he caught two at that. He thought we were catching them to bring home and put in his fish tank which was kind of sad so when he wasn't looking we put them back. Above is a picture of Michael holding Jonas fish because he was too scared to hold as you can tell in the picture below.

We blew up to rafts so we could go out in the middle of the damn which was probably the worst part of the trip. Both the rafts were a little smaller than we had expected and Scott and Michael's raft had a bad leak so every 5 minutes they would have to pump it back up. Other than that it was nice to be out on the water. It was a little windy but other than that it was a beautiful day! Up in the canyons all the leaves are starting to change colors so it was really just so beautiful out!

On the way back to shore Michael saw a few water snakes and caught one of them. It was really quite a friendly snake. Jonas kept on asking what it was so Micheal put it a few inches from him. As soon as the snake moved a little closer Jonas realized what it was and started to scream like a little girl. His reaction was quite funny

Later that night when we got home Scott and I were really tired from not getting any sleep the night before. Jonas had slept on the way home so he was all rested up. So we decided to a movie on for him in our room so we could take a quick nap. About an hour later Jonas says hey mom look. As soon as my eyes opened I saw him fall off the chair head first and smack his head on the corner of the desk. The desk I have is an old antique desk and it is quite solid so I knew it had to hurt. I quickly picked him up and he was just screaming like crazy. It was dark in our room so I couldn't really see his head but I could see what looked like a goose egg on the middle of his forehead. After about 5 minutes of screaming I told him he needed to calm down because he was overreacting. (great mom yeah I know) Just as I said that I realized I smelt blood. So I had Scott turn on the light and I realized what I thought was a bruise was infact blood. He had hit his head a little higher and Jonas and I were both soaked in blood. So we cleaned him up really good so I could take a closer look to see if he would need stitches. It was really a close call. The bleeding slowed so we had his Grandma and Papa come over to calm him down so I could clean it with peroxide. So here are a few pictures below of that. Once again that night I was up every hour to check on him. I knew he didn't have a concussion but head injurys really make me nervous. He is of course just fine but as most of you know I am a little panicky when it comes to Jonas.

This looks like it was so much fun. It's sometimes sad when I think about all the stuff that Ali has missed out on because Scott and I (mostly just Scott) are out-doorsy...camping, fishing, all that good stuff. The biggest problem we have is lack of equipment and no money to buy it! Oh well. I'm proud that Jonas caught two--way to go Jonas! I hope his head is feeling better! Oh, and don't feel bad that you told him he was overreacting. Today, I was quite mean to Ali as I tried to get a splinter out of her hand...I felt like such a poop afterwards! I guess we're only human!
you guys do such fun things and Jonas is so dang cute. Hope he gets over his little injuries. Yeah, Hailey has a new one to show you on Monday! Hailey is having a rough time not seeing Jonas for what 3 days! It is so funny!
