Camping and all other Sorts of Fun!!

For Memorial Day Weekend we decided to go camping at Lake Walcot which is 15 miles from Rupert Idaho. The Weekend was forcasted to be rainy and cold, but we decided since we already got Jonas all excited to go camping that we would go anyway and if it got too cold or too wet out that we could just pack up and go home.We went on Friday around 5:00 pm and set up camp around 7:00 pm. We needed to run back into town to get some bug spray so we ran back to Rupert really quick and someone flagged us down to tell us our tail lights were out and that we should be very careful because the cops in town were pulling just about anyone over that weekend. We thought that was rather nice of the man to go out of his way to warn us like that. The problem with that is that we didn't have proof of insurance with us seeing as how we had just gotten our truck and hadn't received it in the mail yet. So we were on the phone with the insurance company trying to get proof of insurance faxed over just in case we did get pulled over. By the time we got that all taken care of the store was closing so I ran in really quick and got the bug spray and headed back to camp. When we got back it was pitch black. We tried to start a fire but the wood was SOOO wet and we forgot to bring any fire starter. After and hour of trying We finally got a fire but by that point Jonas was so tired and hungry that we quickly cooked him a hot dog and he was sleeping 5 minutes later. I felt so bad for Scott because he worked so hard to get that fire started and we didn't even get to really enjoy it.
The next morning we got up at the butt crack of dawn thanks to Jonas being to excited to sleep any later. We got up and got ready and realized that it was such a beautiful day and Jonas was enjoying himself so much that we would at least stay another night. Not knowing how long we were going to stay I didn't pack enough food for the whole weekend because I figured if we would stay that we would just run into town and get food for the rest of the weekend. So we jumped into the suburban to run to town and get food and get the taillights fixed. Well.... the car would not start and we didn't have a cell phone to call anyone for help. So basically we were stuck with no car and no food. Luckily I found someone to drive me into town for some food and the office let us use there phone to call Scott's Dad who was able to set us up with a tow and a ride home on Monday.

Even though we were without a car for the rest of the weekend, we actually had a really good time. The weather was perfect the whole weekend. We brought our bikes so we went for a few bike rides and a couple of hikes. They had a really nice park there that Jonas really enjoyed. Minus the set backs it was a great weekend. Jonas loved camping and said he never wanted to go home that he wanted to live in a tent for the rest of his life. I guess we will be going camping more often. Below are a few more pictures from our adventurous weekend!

I think we are planning on heading your way sometime this month to see the falls, you'll have to email me your # so we can get together!!
